Part 2 - * In your notebook - 2 paragraphs & A GRAPHIC ORGANIZER
Background: This is a period piece - The characters use dialogue to express ideas about an "operation" that is illegal and dangerous.. All while the character drinks alcoholic beverages pregnant. Remember
" Literature is a product of it's time period" - Professor Mignano - Brady
TASKS: Research- Analyze - Write - Share
Think about time period - Do a bit of research on Europe in the 1920's. Then do a bit of research on your generation- GENERATION Y .
- Evaluate the WORDS - MINDSET - SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE - Keep this in mind when you do the research. Choose two or three significant characteristics of the time period in which Hemingway writes " Hills Like White Elephants" Post WW1 - Europe in the 1920s / America 1920s
- NEXT- Do a bit of research as it relates to the 21st Century GENERATION Y (your generation) - What is the mindset, characteristics of your generation as it relates to Mindset and Social Acceptance? How can it be compared to Hemingway's time?
- Begin with a T CHART OR H CHART OR VENN DIAGRAM- If you prefer an outline with bullets that is ok as well. It is entirely up to you!
- Then explain your findings in 2 paragraphs! I am eager to find out what my young scholars think!!
This is an informal writing piece that will presented in fishbowl - Be Creative !
