Prepare for Our Workshop 
Visit WWW.POETS.ORG ALSO KNOWN AS THE ACADEMY OF AMERICAN POETS. PERUSE THE WEBSITE!  You can sign up for a poem a day if you like!! This is one of my favorite websites !!

For YOUR WORKSHOP: CHoose TWO POEMS from Poets.org (Love) that you feel passionate about and that evoke emotion in you. PRINT THE POEMS and bring them to class. The website is fantastic and  has poems listed by subject. You can peruse the LOVE section and choose two you like.  In addition, Choose ONE song you really like and print the lyrics and bring them to class. You will need the poems and your song for our fishbowl. Poems and song should have a related theme. Answer the following in your notebook to share with the class.
Why did you choose poem 1? Discuss the theme of love as it relates to the poem why? Provide examples and quotes.  What emotions did it evoke? Describe the tone of the poem?
What is the poets purpose? Provide a concrete example and lines in in-text citation to support ideas.
Do the same for POEM 2 -
Discuss how both poems you chose and the theme relate to the song you chose. Discuss why? PRovide at least 2 examples. WE will share in our fishbowl!
