Epictetus (55-135 AD) in The Art of Living exclaimed that "Once you have deliberated and determined that a course of action is wise, never discredit your judgment. Stand squarely behind your decision. Chances are there may indeed be people who misunderstand your intentions and who may even condemn you. But if, according to your best judgment, you are acting rightly, you have nothing to fear. Take a stand" (63).
Interpret this argument made by Epictetus in his book The Art of Living. What does this mean? Now relate how you have interpreted this to mean to the play "Antigone". How does the quote relate to a character(s) in the play thus far.
Relate the quote or the character (s) to the outside world. How does Epictetus'quote about judgment relate to something you heard about? Read about? Learned about?
Where does Antigone's loyalty lie? What does it mean to make choices based on honor? Make sacrifices?
How does the quote relate to Creon? What determines good leadership? List Some of the important characteristics a good leader must have.
