PART III : Read the Poems in the "FAMILY ALBUM" in your text and Analyze :
CHOOSE 2 POEMS and for each poem Develop ONE theme - Support with examples and quotes
What is the speaker trying to communicate to the audience?
Develop one theme? What is the overall tone of the poem?

Prepare for Our Workshop 
Visit WWW.POETS.ORG ALSO KNOWN AS THE ACADEMY OF AMERICAN POETS. PERUSE THE WEBSITE!  You can sign up for a poem a day if you like!! This is one of my favorite websites !!

For YOUR WORKSHOP: CHoose TWO POEMS from Poets.org that you feel passionate about and that evoke emotion in you. PRINT THE POEMS and bring them to class. The website is fantastic and  has poems listed by subject. You can peruse the poetry and choose the ones you like.  In addition, Choose ONE song you really like and print the lyrics and bring them to class. You will need the poems and your song for our Workshop on Thursday! you will work in mini fishbowls on Tuesday 12/2- Song and Poems should have related themes and be congruent.

* In addition, I will go over the final project on Tuesday 12/2. You Should Print the Project Assignment Sheet and Bring it to Class on Tuesday 12/2.  If you have any questions please jot them down ahead of time and I will address them first thing in class.
